Killing mosquitoes, DNCC plans to use the latest technology
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) plans to destroy mosquitoes by spraying with modern technology vehicle mountain machine instead of manual method. This technology will be used for larviciding. 30 years ago, the city government of Seoul started following this method to kill mosquitoes. They showed success in this method. And so, the DNCC nownwants to use that method.
On Wednesday (April 12) in Seoul, the DNCC Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam had a meeting with the South Korea Metropolitan Government Deputy Mayor Kim Yoo Siang. After the meeting on city management, the DNCC Mayor told about his intention.
Maqbul Hossain, Public Relations Officer of the Dhaka North City Corporation, said that DNCC Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam is in Seoul on a five-day visit at the invitation of Korea Foundation to exchange experience related to urban management.
Mayor Atiqul Islam said, 30 years ago there were a lot of mosquitoes in South Korea. But they tackled it through automation and mechanization. Even then they did not spray manually. What I was in Miami in America, I saw the same method when I came here. Everything they do is mechanized. They keep saying mechanize method, so we will also follow that method. We need to make more changes in our mosquito control.
In the meantime, the DNCC Mayor informed about bringing 20 modern vehicle mountain machines.
The mayor also said that they have made the Suarez line underground. They say that mosquitoes breed more in dirty water. And we are suffering because of the open Suarez. Discharge of sewage into lake water should be stopped.
He said Seoul City has been successful in controlling mosquitoes by connecting the community. They all worked together. Making people aware. By following their methods we can get good results.
In this meeting, how they implemented the online trade license and how Seoul City is working in coordination with the police in traffic management were also discussed.
In the meeting, South Korea's Seoul Metropolitan Government Deputy Mayor Kim Yoo Siang praised Bangladesh's economic development. He said, with the arrival of the DNCC mayor in Seoul, the relationship between Dhaka and Seoul will be stronger.
After the meeting, The DNCC Mayor visited Seoul City Traffic Management Control Center.
